You need to video it running so we can see what it is doing. Make your video longer than the last one and try to hold the camera still. Also, video it from the opposite side. My guess is something with the idler or misalignment of the pulleys causing the belt to be off. A video would go a long way in helping to diagnosing it...

I checked fluid and it is good, any ideas???

Also, while looking under the hood for this I noticed my water pump and balancer wobble a little, is this normal??

Will do Hart Rod, I should be able to do that today. NSB, I have a 1 piece driveshaft. I don't have an angle indicator bit the problem is gone when I put the original tensioner and serpentine on

Re: Water pump wobble and question for Hart Rod and Br3w 6L80E

So should I send this to DD and ask for my money back? I was going to try to attach a small turnbuckle to the back of the compressor to help keep it tight but I shouldn't have to do that. What are y'all's thoughts?

Ben at the least I would send them the video and see what input they have for you.

With the number of people running this mount I would expect this is not the first time they have heard this and may be able to get you fixed up.

After that if they throw you some bull**** try to get your money back.

I sent them an email, I will have to send him the link as well. Should have done that in the first place.

Problem solved

Thanks for everyone's help on this. I got in touch with DD and their recommendation worked but cost me another $45 bones which I wasn't happy about but the vibration is gone.

I went to the store and picked up a Gates 38164 spring tensioner which fits the mount and I was able to use same size belt.

Thanks again!

What did they tell you the issue was? Can you give any additional detail?

Re: Water pump wobble and question for Hart Rod and Br3w 6L80E

This is the first response

Holy cow that moves. This is not a normal issue. My first guess is the bracket is loose maybe? The back bracket is tight to the head? As in the bolt holes in the head are clean? We have just updated that bracket using counter sunk holes on the back bracket but this was to get it to fit a VVT application. We also have started running larger, thicker diameter spacers on all of our a/c brackets.

Then he sent he this

You can also mount a spring loaded tensioner on this bracket- Gates 38164

Ya that sucks. They must know the issue though to suggest that tensioner! Good info for anyone else that may run into the issue though! Glad you got it sorted out.

I didn't realize that you didn't have a spring loaded tensioner.....that's a bad design, no wonder they changed it. At least you have it figured out.
