Re: the best 2 point retractable seat belt
I used 67-72 lap belts, not exactly sure of the year, but from that series. They work well and fit properly.

Re: the best 2 point retractable seat belt
All of the suburban and crew cabs had two point seat belts for the middle seats in the rear, I think the extended cabs had them also. You can pick them up at a junk yard I'm sure.

Re: the best 2 point retractable seat belt
This has been my experience with retractable lap belts. At first I really wanted lift buckle belts with the correct single tongue male buckle end that would have been available in the early 1960’s, and this is the only company I found that produces them:
http://www.cmwauto.com/MainMenu/Inte.../seatbelts.htm But eventually I decided to go with retractable lap belts in mine so I went with these with more of a 70’s era starburst buckle: http://www.seatbeltsplus.com/product/HL256P.html They work fine but I don’t recommend them because the company doesn’t ship what they advertise. The male ends provided don’t look like the one pictured on the website. They are supposed to have a wide metal end as indicated in this photo to prevent them from entering the plastic housing. What actually showed up is a buckle the same width as the housing, and a big flap of seat belt material that catches the edge and folds the buckle over so it’s lying over the side of the retractor towards the door. In this first photo I tucked the flap of material into the retractor for the photo, which is what I do when attending a rod run or car show: These buckles were hard to release since the button must be depressed at an odd and difficult angle: And this is what they look like in normal daily usage. Stupid: I didn’t realize this design substitution/defect until after the belts were installed and I went to use them the first time. I disliked them enough to replace them with these from SeatBeltPlanet: The new seatbelts were a 100 point hit with my wife (and me too for that matter). They pull out of the retractors smoothly and easily, don’t get hung up part way and have to go back in. They are also super easy to release. And the male end of the belt in the retractor bumps into the end of the housing like it should: The receptacle end of a new set works just like a new car. The red button in the end is depressed and the latch pops right out:
