Differences between grill filler panels for our year of trucks
Can some one explain the differences between the grill filler panels. I know the grill bolt holes are different. Is that all?

I am going by what is available in replacement panels. They list one for 60-61, one for 62, one for 63, and one for 64-66.

Re: Differences between grill filler panels for our year of trucks
hello! other than bolt hole differences for grilles the 60-62 had shallow notches where it fits over the frame rails. 63-66 the notches got a little deeper to clear the taller frame rails...I think also there were some differences in the baffling near the lower part of rad,but not certain on that.

Re: Differences between grill filler panels for our year of trucks
That is what I am concerned about. I picked up a used one at a swap meet not realizing there was differences. Mine must be the earlier models because it is resting on the frame rails. My truck is a 66. I will have to get my old one down and look at it closer. I did once but I didn't look at the notches I was concerned about clearance for the light buckets.

grille mounting and headlight buckets wont be an issue but yes if you have a 60-62 panel on a 66 it will rub the frame rails. good luck.

Well I do have the early model. I am. Going to try and cut out the notches from my old grill shell and weld them on to the older shell. Much cheaper than buying a replacement.
