TunerProRT Questions??

I have an '87 5.7L TBI SWB R10 with SM465 4 speed. I have removed the cat and upgraded to 2.25 dual exhaust off of stock manifolds. I have removed the air pump and upgraded to the AFS 74 3-wire o2 sensor. I have tunerpro rt and usb cable to monitor the ECU. I am using the 1987 - 91 C&K Truck, Van, 4.3L, 5.7L, 5.0L & 7.4L engines. MT & 700R4$42-1227747-V3T.adx definition file from the red devil river software cd.

My questions are...

I notice that the dashboard has an Air Switch / Air Valve reading that will switch form "off" to "engaged". It switches to engaged when the system goes to idle and the o2 goes in to "open loop" even after the engine is up to operating temp. Is this correct? What is the Air Valve reading?

The o2 still only goes in to "closed loop" after the engine temp hit 189. I have check it several times and that is the case every time. I am assuming that even with the heated o2 the ECU is commending the switch based on engine temp. Is this correct?

The other thing I see is that the BLM seems to always be thinking the system is running lean and reads in the 150 - 160 range most of the time. The ING numbers look to stay in the 120 -135 range so the system seems to be correcting so it is in the range it needs to be. The BLM does go to the 125-135 during deceleration and at idle (650 rpm). Does this sound right?

I am new to the whole monitoring / tuning game. I realize that I am very limited to what can be done with the system I have but was looking for a little guidance to what things should look like.

Thanks in advance for any help that be offered.
