NOT mine---there is also a 66 3/4t 4x4 with air, custom steering wheel on Sacramento. cragslist. $1800 or offer. say's no title can be issued.(don't know what means) ft end damage on pass side. interior looks nice.

most of the time you can but sometimes the title gets branded non-rebuildable and in that case DMV won't allow the vehicle to be registered for the street again... from the DMV website:

Non-Rebuildable vehicle
A vehicle that meets one of the following criteria and has no resale value except as a source of parts or scrap metal:

Declared by the owner solely as a source of parts or scrap metal.
Completely stripped (surgical strip) when recovered from theft.
Completely burned hulk with no usable or repairable parts.
A Nonrepairable Vehicle Certificate is the ownership document for a nonrepairable vehicle. Once this certificate is issued, the vehicle cannot be titled or reregistered for use (CVC §431).

The way around this is to first register it in another, more lenient state and then bring it "back" in to California....

I think its cause it has a ford motor in it dressed up as a chevy engine...
