gauge help

Ok so I wired my own swap as per lt1swap.com removed a lot o pins from computer. I retained the tachometer. And vss wire. My question is what do you have to do to make oem gauges work. I have a Hyundai elantra and the gauge set up has a tachometer and speedometer that would fit perfectly in the 63 housing . Is there a way I can wire them to work.

Not all o.e.m gauges are the same....let alone something from a H-h-h-hyundai.

If you can find info on what kind of gauges it uses (are they digital or analog, what kind of sending units, what ranges), then its possible we can figure out how to make it work.

If the korea-mobile is super late model, it probably uses CanBus type system to control it, and you'd have to figure out the protocol for that (aka not worth it). If its 90's-2000's then you have a much better chance.

Unfortunately when I think of those interiors I see gagues like this;

Which are hideous

Re: gauge help

Lol I hear you yea I was talking a 2013 model and the gauges look kinda like traditional camaro gauges. Pretty sweet looking. I would really like to just find an easy Speedo swap that would look good in the 63. Housing. I have an aftermarket tachometer but if I could find a speedometer tachometer set that would work easy I would go for it I had not bought the speedometer yet and now the match to my tachometer is discontinued. And we'll I just don't think Texas will let me have a plate with no kind of odometer

Re: gauge help

Do you need to have it road-checked to get the plate?

Just buy a scangaugeII and plug it into the obd port and use its odo, then you can just disconnect it whenever you want, or just switch the screen so you don't have to look at it.

Re: gauge help

No. But I'm wondering what I'll do for the inspection sticker.
