Did you have to enlarge the radio cut-out for the gauge panel? ...ned.

Re: Radio Ideas
There was a crappy radio when I got it. I just decided not to replace it. This is a daily driver and I don't miss the radio.

Re: Radio Ideas
I am curious as well. My truck is a former work truck with radio delete so I am keeping that theme and plan to hide the audio system. I'd thought about hiding a modern CD player in the glovebox and really like the idea of hiding an iPod in the ash tray.

Re: Radio Ideas
I cant take the credit for it though! Losthope posted about it here.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...5&postcount=15 I wanted to get an old CB and make it out of that for my GMC, but couldn't find one big enough. Close, but not quite. |

Re: Radio Ideas
Mine is probably not the most popular radio selection, but this was my answer to the burnt out radio that use to be in my truck.

Re: Radio Ideas
I've been working on the problem of audio for my current truck project. I found this:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_136CLSE...io-CL-SES.html It provides three inputs which it then auto-switches to one output. Inputs are prioritized such that A supercedes B supercedes C. I found this: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_822BTRE...MIL-BTREC.html I can attach it to one of the three inputs and it will provide a bluetooth connection to the stereo that is headless. My plan is to connect the factory radio in the truck to input A, an 1/8th inch stereo line in plug to input B, and the MIL-BTREC Bluetooth transceiver to input C. Most of the time I listen to music and podcasts on my smartphone which I can do through bluetooth. On long trips I take an iPod that holds my entire music library. At car shows I like to run the stock radio. And I can do all of this through a completely headless sound system. Just two cents from the new guy... -- Smittie |
