Advantage in non tilt 67-72 columns?

Is there any advantage to swapping over to a non tilt 72 auto column other than having the column shift and indicator? Ie, design, better bearings, etc etc?

Debating on whether or not I should just add 2 Burgeson u joints in my '65 shaft. One at the top near the firewall, and the other in place of the rag joint.

I'm about to drop a 5.3/4l80e in the truck so the auto column shift would be nice so I don't have a shifter through the floorboard, but I'm just curious if there are any other advantages to these columns.

Thanks!
