Front Wheel Bearing Seal Question
What is the best way to get the seal back in the hub? I dont what to be beating the crap out of it with a hammer. Thanks

this is about as crude at the hammer but place a short peice of 2x4 laying flat on the seal then hit that with the hammer.

Go to Home Depot and try to find a pice of pipe that is the same size. Use a coupling and a end cap. Makes for a nice seal driver.

A piece of pipe just a bit smaller in diameter than the seal, and tap it in. If you have some big ass sockets, that'll do the same. Just tap it in, no need to pound on it.
If you don't have anything like that around, the wood will do the trick. Something most ppl wont tell you is to apply a small amount of sealant on the outer lip of the real before driving it in, we have found that that helps quite a bit, esp in older higher mileage vehicles. Also a dab of grease on the inner lip halps it slide over the spindle with less damage to the seal. |

I always just lightley tapped around the edge until they went in......

I am an idiot. I thought the seal is suppose to sit flush with the hub. It isn't.
