In thinking of doing the Volvo relay with the BMW temp relay. You can find it all on ebay for around $ 40.

I personally like the normal clutch fan. It will always work if the motor is running. To me it looks better. Here is the spacer that was talked about.



Here is the shroud. I used aluminum. Was pretty easy to make or you could buy from Summit.

cab_01, Fantastic job on both your shroud and your fan positioning. 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the opening for best air flow. You do nice work.

I ended up using an electric fan because my truck would get hot here in the San Joaquin Valley during the HOT summers idling in traffic with the A/C on, waiting in the drive through with the A/C on. I needed massive amounts of airflow at idle is the reason I went with an electric. Going down the road I'm fine but idling at 8 or 9 hundred RPM just didn't cut it sitting still in the heat.

I put together the shroud from Summit and it worked out pretty good. I had to do some extra cutting to trim the ring strip down to 2" so the fan wouldn't be buried inside the shroud. The ring strip is 3" wide in the kit but since I have my engine moved to the forward position it needed to be modified.



Even though you went with an electric fan you should still consider some sort of shroud to pull air through the entire radiator.

I've got a fan shroud coming. The Taurus fan is completely shrouded, if you look at the pictures posted by Shortbox you can see what I'm talking about.

Thank you sir. I live in east San Diego county and it gets hot but not like you get up there.
