350 engine value??
I have a rebuilt 350 engine , never started.... Came with truck I got last sept. When crate motor went on sale I couldn't stand it and got one. So now I want to sell the engine that came with the truck.I need to know what to ask for it. It's a 3970010 with 333882 heads . Front id vo708TDB.I don't know who or when engine was rebuilt, I took the valve covers off and every thing looks good and clean. It turns over ..I'm not an engine builder so I got the crate

I don't really know but if you don't get any responses in a couple of days I will move your question to the "Engine and Drivetrain" forum and see what happens. Sometimes the board is a little slow on the weekends. LockDoc

Re: 350 engine value??
Just picked one up from a friend. About 30,000 on a rebuilt. Starts, runs, no issues. Complete, starter, alt., p.s. pump, carb., everything. Also turbo 400 that needs a rebuild. $500. I pull it. Hope that helps. Oh I'm in California. And he was asking slightly more on CL but he was tired of dealing with flakes.

Re: 350 engine value??
A non running engine is very difficult to sell. Most buyers will view it as a boat anchor. Price it at $500 and see if you get any bites.

Re: 350 engine value??
Unless someone that knows you (trusts you) needs it you may get a tiny bit more but I'd say 500 like leddzepp. There's a local shop here that sells 350s with a 5 year warranty for $1050. Better off to save it in my opinion, if that's an option. $500 wouldn't even cover the parts for the rebuild but people are gunshy of a rebuilt engine with no firm history.

Re: 350 engine value??
no offence but thats gotta be the most used line selling an engine.
and may scare most away, cept for the flakes n lowballers. then wonder who rebuilt it and whats fresh besides the paint& gaskets. as soon as you sell it cheap, somebodys gona say they would have given you more. keep it,till you get the truck on the road
