86 k20
Alright so I got 2 questions for everybody here. I have a 86 small block and it has a lot of emissions can I just a remove all this stuff? Also what's the best way to make the engine bay look nice? Just clean well or sand blast and paint? If so which paints. Will post pics when can not letting me up load now
Thanks andy

Re: 86 k20
Hi, each state's emission control laws may be different, I am in California and here anything newer than 75 you can't mess with and pass SMOG. So check what your regulations are then have at it; EGR delete, Air Pump delete, Air tubes delete, etc.
I use Mineral Spirits to clean, get the odorless kind at Home Depot and that's your best degreaser, cheap too. I will try using POR15 Engine Enamel, as they started out with their Paint Over Rust product and now seem to be making everything short of toothpaste, LOL Comes in 23 different colors and you can apply it with a brush, less mess, less waste, or get the spray can. http://www.por15.com/ENGINE-ENAMEL_p_47.html |

Re: 86 k20
Its not as easy as just removing all that stuff if you do go with an older carb and a older Hei distributer. And it is illegal fedrialy to tamper with any emmision controlled device. So i only do it on off road vehichles only!

Fellow Oregonian here I just removed all of my vacuum hoses from my 1985 Chevy except for the vacuum advance yesterday , the previous owner removed a bunch of them so I just finished the job .

Re: 86 k20
Does it still run with no problems? Just like a regular 350?
