Does anyone have any experience with the polyurathane cab mount kits? Will it make the ride considerabley harsher? Truck is a GMC 3/4 ton. It already feels like the suspension is welded in unless it has a good sized load in it.

Sounds more like a very stiff (heavy duty) suspension than a cab mount problem. Is it a camper special? What's the GVWR (on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb)? What tires at what air pressure?

I installed prothane poly mounts on my 3/4 GMC, it does not make the ride stiffer but transfers more road vibrations to the cab. But not bad, in my situation the rubber mounts were gone and a PO had cut up tires and stuck the pieces over the old rubber mounts. Needless to say it felt better w/ the poly mounts.

I installed the poly mount's on my blazer and it does bring up some road noise but should last forever.... Welcome to the board from southern oregon..

No problems except the existing mounts are old, cracked etc. I'm looking to replace them and was wondereing about advantages of polyurethane vs. rubber.

i have the poly mounts and dont really notice any extra vibration but mine is a 4x4 and its a lil bumpy anyway.

I prefer the rubber mounts. If the first set lasted 30 years you should not have to replace them for another 30 with the rubber and the ride is better.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
