Radio vs. radio delete
If the glove box sticker doesn't show any radio on the option list, does that mean the truck was a radio delete? I'm a newbie here and hope to learn more about these trucks.

Re: Radio vs. radio delete
I would say so. Is there an antenna on the cowl? Is it in factory location/style?

Re: Radio vs. radio delete
My Dad thought a radio in a car was a dangerous distraction.

Re: Radio vs. radio delete
I found my Delete Plate inside the passenger door, when we were installing stereo speakers. That was around '79. It had been there since '73 or before. PO had inexpertly installed a Delco AM-only junkyard-find in the holes. I cut a rectangle into my delete plate to make it a faceplate for my Sanyo AM/FM Cassette deck. I had also painted it several coats of Flat Black. I had been a perfect matching 516 Orange, like the whole truck. I decided aftermarket radios were a wiring liability [and a driver distraction] so I took out all non-stock electric accessories in '02, when I started an overhaul and engine rebuild. I now have a white Delete Plate, I got from a board member for $10.
