i'm pretty sure Sierra Grande wasn't until '70 or '71 on GMC's. Before that, I think the high end model was the Custom. But maybe someone else can shed some more light.

I think you guys are right. A guy I used to work with had a '70 GMC Sierra Grande. He would always point out that was the first year they were made. The body on that thing was totally shot but the truck was highly optioned. He deceided to give it to his Nephew and asked if I wanted some of the desirable parts off it for free. All he asked was that I replace the parts with something else. He gave me the tach dash which I replaced with a standard dash. And he also gave me the grill ( the one and only exterior body part on it that was nice) which was absolutely mint. I swaped a grill that actually matched the rest of the truck it was totally beat up. Here's where I kick myself in the azz; it had original shoulder harness seatbelts, they were black and looked like they had never been used. Totally mint and complete. Back then, I had no idea they were desirable. Heck, I wouldn't even wear a seatbelt back then. He tried to talk me into taking them for a good 20 minutes and I kept turning them down because I didn't want to hassle with taking them out. Oh well....there goes my once in a lifetime chance to own a set of those.

The Sierra was the same option as the CST....so you guys are saying Chevy had it and GMC did not. I tought I had seen pics on here of 67-68 Sierra that had the name on the door instead of the bed. I think the "grand" part came later but I believe there were Sierras

I think Custom and Custom Camper was all that was on the doors on the GMC...but I may well be wrong on that, that's all I can think of on the doors at the moment.
