Re: Shelf-it.....anyone has one of these?

I had one in a full sized Bronco. I did not really like it and removed it. It was basically a big long tray that is flocked with no dividers or stops or anything and stuff just ended up sliding around.

It mounted to the visor mount locations and you re-mounted the visors on it.

Maybe I just drive to aggressively...

I never got one because it reduces upward visibility - when you pull up to a traffic light you will have to crane your neck to see the light change - had that problem with a HHR with short windshield. I am 6'2". A couple of inches makes a big difference when you are tall. I also did not like nothing to hold items in place as was mentioned.

I’m opposite. I have one and love it. I do a lot of long distance off-road travel around the Southwest and need all the storage room I squeeze out of an old square body regular cab. Perfect place to store soft items. After taking a camera in the forehead bouncing around off road I learned that is not a good place to keep the heavier projectiles I don't find it obstructing the view at all but I am not very tall either.

Hi DirtyLarry, is the shelf all metal? How much weight until it sags in the middle?

Also, I enjoyed seeing your '78 truck in Peterson's 4 Wheel magazine!

I had one in a F 350 when I was on the road. Had the CB radio and police scanner mounted on it. I loved it.

Thanks! I've never put enough weight on it for it to sag. Its pretty heavy gauge metal for what it is.

How deep is it? I'm wondering if any of my radios will need to hang over the front or the back of the shelf.
