This is an old thread I wish people would stop sticking a fork into. Since I first posted on this thread I have done a LOT of research and put far more together. Currently there are model specific threads for Subs, Blazers and Pickups.

** Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
** Blazer
** Suburban

The three basic models used different trim codes for the "Special Combination" that made up the Highlander Plaid trim upgrade.

Offered as either a stand alone upgrade to Custom Deluxe Pickups/Subs & Blazer CSTs or included in the Highlander Promo Packages, the trim codes are the same for a given model. Descriptions varied with models and plants.

Rest assured your trim code 642 Suburban is a Blue Plaid Highlander.

Sorry I got onto an old thread here. In reading the suburban thread I wasny seeing the option as listed on my spid and just was trying for some clarification. It was not in any sense meant to upset anyone. Sorry again to have caused such a bother. I'm happy to delete my posting if it would make things better in your eyes. I actually had been on both posts and missed that I wasn't posting on the suburban side.

Guess I learned my lesson for the day! Thanks for all your effort on this. Have a good one.

Re: Highlander experts....little help?

No problem. Its more of an archive building block to me. Going back and doing revisions would do more harm than good so my hope is that people who find this thread will move up to the current threads and find the info they need vs the guesses and speculation early in this thread.

As far as information, the correct trim codes for each model are listed in the first post of my referenced links as well as Promo Package breakouts.

Have a good one and please post up some pictures of your 542/642 L47 Sub! :-)
On the Sub Highlander thread that is...

More general linkage
* VIN/Model Decoders
* Power Team Charts (engine/transmission/gear ratio)
* Post Your Pickup SPID Blazer SPID Suburban/Panel SPID
* RTFM
