Gone to far

My build was / is tube chassis. Four seater trailer queen
Power train 5.3 lsx th 350 trans. 203/dana 300 dual t-cases, 32 spline out puts
Four link front and rear 16 inch coil overs. Axles 1 tons 4.88 gears, air locker front. spool rear full hydro steering. Race line bead locks . 39.5 bfg red label crawlers.
I finished it to the point to go play and it works amazing. I've had plenty of chevy motors and this 5.3 with a tune has been the most reliable rev limiter hitting one to date.
Wheeling wise stable on walls and side hills. Fast over the woops and rocks leaves room for a lot more shock tuning.
The build took me about year and a half to build mostly by myself and my 3.1/2 year old girls, when mom was busy.

On the chassis table, made for a great work height.

Re: Gone to far

14 bolt axle hung down a little to low. Cut the bottom off heat treated axle housing during the welding of the plate. So far works awesome

Re: Gone to far

very nice!

ive been eyeballing the RCVs for some time. i almost hope i pop a front shaft in my truck sometime so i can give myself some BS reason to buy them... haha.

the 60 in my jeep has 30spl outers and late model non neck down shafts, still ever had an issue with it. the cummins truck is 35spl outers and stock 78 ford inners.. i bet it pops first... the chevy would look cooler with them anyhow...

the shave plate looks like a nice piece.

Re: Gone to far

I love the rcv's luckily I had a friend do a group buy. Life time warranty is great ,which a friend has used several times not one issue.
running the 30 splines are ok until they explode a ruin the spindles. I ran 35 outer upgraded shafts for years With great luck. Snap 1 every year or so.

Re: Gone to far

My first buggy was low buck , installed new Spicer u joints. Put spot welds around the caps. And adjust the steering stops. Nothing snaps shafts faster than binding them. Ruins a day fast
