Is it valuable or just the same?
I bought a what was listed as a 68 longbed to part out. I have since gotten it running and driving so I have some people coming to look at it tonight.
A friend of mine that does a lot of these trucks tells me that the one I have is pretty valuable because it is a full factory rear leaf spring suspension. My question is this, is this frame worth major additional money or is it the same basic value as the trailing arm frames. I am selling the entire truck right now for 3500 running and driving. I just don't want to make an uneducated mistake and sell it too cheap. Any guidance is appreciated! Thanks

Re: Is it valuable or just the same?
I've heard of people changing from leaf to coil but not really the opposite.

Re: Is it valuable or just the same?
Yeah. Not to say it is or isn't more valuable but I've never seen them be more desirable per say.

Re: Is it valuable or just the same?
There is really no extra value to a leaf sprung truck. Chevy offered it as more of an HD option, where as a lot of GMC's came with leaf springs from the factory. Not rare. Just not super common for a Chevy.

Re: Is it valuable or just the same?
Same. Most people are looking for coil sprung in my experience.

Re: Is it valuable or just the same?
Thanks to all for the responses. I guess if someone is looking for the needle in the haystack for a full factory restoration it might be something special. I always wanted the trailing arm frames since they are so much easier to lower.
I guess I will sell her off and not worry about it.

Re: Is it valuable or just the same?
I got a " Full factory leaf spring truck", but i don't feel its anything special, except its a Camper special with 10 leafs per side, beat your brains out empty ride, that I wouldn't pay extra for. Jim

Re: Is it valuable or just the same?
My 1972 GMC C1500 Super Custom is a leaf sprung truck. Pain in the butt to lower. But... since I put it in the ditch and bent the frame... it's getting a donor frame from a 1969 Chevy C10 with coils and trailing arms.
