1962 LSx swap fuel filter question?

Swapping a 5.3 into my '62...have walbro fuel pump mounted on the frame rail with 6-AN fittings to the stock 5.3 fuel line. Will run return line into stock tank behind seat as tank is like new...

What filter (if any) are you running? Basic filter on the suction side or pressure filter on pressure side or maybe sock in tank?

Re: 1962 LSx swap fuel filter question?

I used a stock Wix filter for a 2003 GMC . I scabbed the old filter from the stock fuel lines and silver soldered steel AN -6 fittings to a section of the stock filter fittings and the cheap Wix filters seem to work fine

Re: 1962 LSx swap fuel filter question?

Are you going to weld a return bung to the tank?

Could a return bung be welded in the metal plate part of the sending unit next to where the fuel feed line comes out? (so you can take it out and wash off the gas/and fumes, for safety, vs welding on the tank)

It's pretty small diameter plate that the stock sender and pickup goes into....I'll give it a look tomorrow.
My tank hasn't had gas in it since 1998 or so...tank is mint inside and out...

I placed it between the tank and the injector rail, I guess that would be the suction side, not the return side.
I did not take any pics
