Ok folks , I will be attempting some rocker repair on the 63, I got 3 pieces from Classic industries. should I install them the way the catalog shows? Sandwiching "X" between "W" and "Y" ?

Thanks for the help!!

Re: Sheet Metal repair

brace the cab up as best you can.

cut from the outside in..

Then replace the pieces from the inside out.

Just remember to go slow, mock up before you weld, measure twice.. i mean three times...

I am new to this too, and it really wasnt that bad. just take your time

Re: Sheet Metal repair

You don't need both X and W; you need either X or W, to go with Y depending on how far back you need to replace the metal. X and W really are the same part just in a different configuration depending on your situation.

Hopefully that answers more questions than it raises!

Re: Sheet Metal repair

too bad the people at the vendor are not more knowledgeable , as stated X and Y are both inner rockers, and you only need 1 if your inner rocker is shot, also if you get a floor pan, it has the inner rocker attached to it as well- so there are 3 ways you can fix an inner rocker, would have been nice if they had a prompt for the seller to ask you which you needed, of if you were doing 2 different trucks...

Re: Sheet Metal repair

And there is yet another option. This full length outer floor with the inner rocker.

This is what I prefer to use.

I think I'm going down this road as well..do you guys agree to keep as much original as you can? Even if it means more time and effort to cut here and there?
