Re: spell check
File 13....
No seriously, typically if you really fubar a word, you'll get it highlighted in the text box. (Like fubar ) Even then unless it's pig latin most of the time the message will come across. the guys are just poking a little fun...I have yet to see any grammar nazis around here. Most of the time the community is screaming for pics more than detailed, grammatically correct, properly spelled descriptions. |

Re: spell check
I use Firefox which has one built in. It doesn't try to change the words around like my blooming phone does either. I don't think the site had or ever has had a spell check feature.

Re: spell check
Some of us are both. If you don't trust the red lines, go to a new browser home page and type in the suspect word in the search function. It will usually show the correct word before you finish typing it. I don't see any inconsistency between a quality truck build and wanting to be grammatically correct on a pubic forum. Don't get me started about "then' and "than".

Re: spell check
Speak for yourself TP but it's pretty well know that I was a school teacher.
I'd have to think that on this board just like other boards I am on guys get real tired of seeing someone's misuse of grammar or constantly misspelled words that tend to show that they put little effort or thought into what they write. That doesn't include our members overseas who are often at the mercy of the computer's translation system that throws what they are trying to say out of sync. For them we expect to read between the lines and figure out what they did say or ask and give an appropriate response. One only has to look at the Yakima Wa Craigslist to see that spelling and proper use of words makes a difference when you see all of the 8000 lb wenches advertised. I don't know about you but I don't want to have to contend with an 8000 lb wench. An 8000 lb winch on the other hand.

Re: spell check
And apparently. Many didn't even attend grade school.
Thanks for trying to use correct spelling and punctuation.

Re: spell check
I don't know about that but I do know that the Yakima craigslist suffers greatly by misspelled words and wrong words or terms that are almost spelled the same minus one letter. I have however gotten a couple of bargains because someone's add was so poorly written that no one else responded before I did.

Re: spell check
There are benefits for taking the time to do it correctly. I think most who add to this site will agree.
