OT [PSA] Don't do business with Citi Financial!

I'm so pissed!! Are these people using stone tablets instead of computers!!

We have been in the process of refinancing our home and combining that with a small second mortgage we took out w/ Citi Financial. The loan is supposed to fund today and our attorney has been faxing for a week to get a pay-off balance and has been ignored. So, we called and not only were they rude but we got several different stories on how to obtain a pay-off (mail in request, fax in request blah blah blah) After talking to at least 4 different people and having to get VERY angry we finally got someone to fax our attornys the pay-off. So, save yourselves future headaches by not dealing with these people.

Sorry about being OT, but I want to tell everyone in the world to not deal with these a-holes.

That sucks.

Chase is the same way, they lost our mortage payment for five months and turned it to the credit agencies. it took 6 more months for them to admit there was a mistake and amend our credit & late charges. This is even with a copy of the bank check showing it had cleared.

Cat Fuzz dont make me get my wife in here to post. Oh man she had big run in with them. They said out payment was late but due to their paperwork and our bank the payment was made the day before it was due. The problem was that some person when posting the money to the account left out the last digit. Now the funny part is that Their paperwork that they faxed to us stated that. It took us 2 months to get it all straightened out. Hassle and very very rude people.. Just my 2 cents

NCO Financial in Pa. I believe fits in this group of STUPID companies. They apparently believe they are above the law and don't have to obey the collections laws. And this was on a bill from Cingular ( another group amazes me) who failed to send us the bill to begin with and turned it over to collections without us even knowing about it! We even told them to send us the final bill. We never recieved one. There are some really nice to know laws concerning debt collections that I think everyone ought to familiarize themselves with. As far as Cingular and NCO Financial, I am surprised they can manage to drive to work let alone anything else. IMO all of there lamps are missing there light bulbs. Some of the dumbest people I have ever dealt with IMO.

I have to agree with the Cingular. I really have to state that ATT Wireless has got to have the worst customer service in existence. I actually had 3 different people hang up on me when I was trying to resolve a billing issue and I asked to speak to thier supervisor. I went to the actual store, and was told I would have to phone the problem in (the same thing I had been doing). Finally I made one of the people at the store call with me standing there and she got no answers and then got "disconnected" !! Three calls later I finally got through to someone that would help me. There exact words were 'that's no problem at all' . It's freaking amazing that any large corporation can get away with the poor customer service standards that they have. In case you can't tell, customer service is my BIG pet peeve. I go out of my way to tell anyone and everyone about a company that treats me poorly!

I used to have a capitol one card. When I paid it off and canceled it, they didn't cancel it. Instead, they added on a service fee, didn't send me a bill and add on a late fee and interest. I went through this three times before they finally canceled my card. They did remove all the fees & interest so I never had to pay them anymore.

I did have a huge problem with Sears 4 years ago. I noticed I hadn't recieve a bill from them for quite some time so I called. They gave me another number to call and it was a collection agency. I called Sears back amazingly enough, my address reverted back to one I had 3 address prior. This remarkably happened on January 1, 2000 at 12:00am. Since they couldn't find any documentation that I submitted a change of address, they removes all the interest, late fees, called off the collection agency and wrote me a letter explaining it was all thier fault incase it ever came back to haunt me. I quickly paid off any balence I owed them and canceled my account.

I'm a sofware developer suddenly finding myself working for a bank (Washington Mutual). I work for their Home Loans and Insurance Group.

Mortgage houses should be part of the shopping experience for a loan. My wife and I originally had our first mortgage through Chase Manhattan. I couldn't stand everything about the process. Their loan docs, origination, underwriting, fulfillment, and closing processes were HORRIBLE.

We refinanced through Seattle Mortgage to get away from Chase. Since then we refinanced again.

Originally we got an 8 3/8 % rate with Chase when the market was high. Our bone-head loan officer wasn't letting us know when rates were dropping, so I went shopping on my own. We ended up refinancing for 6 3/8 % (2 whole points lower) through Seattle Mortage, and just finished doing it AGAIN back in August to 5.25 %.

Beats the hell out of 8 3/8%, and they're small enough where I know most of everyone over there...
