ECE Front disc brake install today
Getting ready to install a ECE front disc brake kit on my 66 today. Starting with new ball joints, coil springs and then the disc kit. QUESTION. Does anyone have some good pictures of how the master cylinder / proportioning valve and other brake lines go? The instruction sheet I received has very dark pictures and I can not make out the exact plumbing. Thanks in advance. Jim

Re: ECE Front disc brake install today
I did the ECE kit also and it was pretty straight forward, I don't know if these pics will help or not.

Re: ECE Front disc brake install today
Well I recently did the same upgrade with the ECE line kit as well and agree the photos on the instructions were useless. But if you don't rush you can figure it out.
As far as the line set, well I did the lines a little different than the instructions intended. Due to the long tube headers on my truck I ran them on the outside of the frame rail (like 71-72c-10's) seen here I then went to my local parts house and got some Nicopp brakeline and created my own crossmember pieces, because once I ran the lines from the master down on the outside of the rails, I couldn't use the ECE crossmember sections. Unfortunatly I don't have pics of the crossmember sectons. Hope this helps some

Re: ECE Front disc brake install today
ECE brake install went quite well yesterday. I am also changing all the ball joints, coil springs and the 4 tie rod ends. Lots of time spent cleaning parts. I have the spindle installed on one side and ready to tackle the other side. Anyone ever had an internal coil spring compressor that they could not get the hook device back out the bottom hole? Part was too large--- should have checked that first. Was able drive one of the hook retaining pins out and get it out in pieces!! J

Re: ECE Front disc brake install today
I, personally didn't use a spring compressor, just a trusty jack. pretty easy to do without a compressor, so I just went with it. I have pics in my build thread if you need reference.
