Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
Does anyone have this radio? Do you like it? $389 w/Bluetooth. One of the closest looking ones to stock.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Slidebar-Rad...35f826&vxp=mtr The bottom radio is $569

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
Well if it's like every other Custom Autosound radio I've ever been involved with, it won't be good.
I would certainly get some independent review info before I'd purchase one.

. . . .
That bottom one is a little different then the top one. I haven't seen that one before. I have one like the bottom one and it sounds pretty good considering it only has one speaker. http://www.mikehaganantiqueautoradio...reo-radio.html |

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
Steve - I definitely like the bottom one better. How's the quality and appearance compared to the original stock radio?
Looks like I need to save another $290 so I can get the bottom one with the Bluetooth adapter. I just really want the stock appearance with Bluetooth option.

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
Good from far but far from good.... I think that applies with the looks here. It mimics the slide bar function of the original, but it looks like cheap aftermarket in appearance when compared to. If stock is what you're after, then nothing less than stock will do! As far as the function of Custom Autosound radios are concerned; some people have problems and some people don't. My Father has one in his 55 Chevy that is flawless. That being said, there's others that should just do monthly leases on them because they trade them in so much.

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
Just a thought ... would it be less money to take an AM or AM-FM radio and have it upgraded? Just a thought

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
Look up Gary Tayman radio conversions. He takes stock am radios and converts them to am/fm radio with all new radio parts and guts and has iPod connection, Bluetooth, and it keeps the original am faceplate and all the original buttons and knobs and they work as original. He does am/fm radios too. I had a retro sound for 5 years and really didn't like it at all so I sent my am radio out and has it converted and I am amazed at how nice it is and how good the sound is and it's cheaper than evereybody else at only $385 or so.

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
Looked up a Texas vendor, $375 for FM conversion plus $150 for BT....$525 plus shipping. Can also add USB for $25.
Expensive to roll like a BOSS!

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
The bottom radio is a completely different animal, no junk there. Custom Autosound however = junk.

Re: Does anyone have the new Slidebar radio?
It did have to get replaced once because the slide part wasnt working on the first one but I used the replacement over the weekend and it is performing really well. We will see over time if that changes I know there track record is
sketchy. PG |

I've been looking at getting one of these myself. Did you get it with bluetooth? Would you care to share where you purchased it from?
