Think I found a Smash hit
Looking at a classified and came across this smash hit guard and was wondering if it was correct for our trucks? Looks like it, and Ive kind of already agreed to purchase and pick up haha but figured id check for sure, any input is welcome. he is at $75 and im at $50 for it, which may seem high but ive blown more on worse lol So we will see.

Re: Think I found a Smash hit
Those are definitely for our era of truck. I would stick with $50, they go higher but a rechrome would be around $300.
They arent really sought after, but some of us think they are cool!

Re: Think I found a Smash hit
Nice find. Looks just a tad different than the one I have. My inner bars are more rounded. Take a measurement if you plan to use it, remember the 60-62 frames have a different bolt pattern.
Good thread on them here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=510352

Re: Think I found a Smash hit
I think it would go right along with my 61 Apache in its current condition which is basically rust haha or on my 64 which is about the same

Re: Think I found a Smash hit
I have 1 1/2 already my self. I took it to be re-chromed and needed to be resuscitated!
I wanted to put it on my dad's crew cab for his birthday a couple years ago. It isnt nice enough for his truck but Ill use it on another project in the future.

Re: Think I found a Smash hit
I'd take some serious measurements before buying. I'm not convinced that's for a 60-66 GM truck. The angle and bends in the bars don't look like any of the others I've seen on our trucks. Check the photos in this thread:

Re: Think I found a Smash hit
I can tell you that its not factory but its as close to factory if the factory ever made them, I to also purchased one and had it powder coated. the guy I bought it from would not just sell it to me I had to buy the whole front clip and I paid more the $50 for it. and it also is made in waco texas.

Re: Think I found a Smash hit
I can't offer any input or whether or not it will fit but if you're anything like me (and I get the impression you might be) I'd buy it anyway. Usually $50-75 is my upper limit on "neat stuff" that I may or may not use. Lol
