Dash knobs n breakers

From looking behind the dash, I'm guessing left to right the first knob is headlights, Second is wipers, third is the choke?

Then there's this one... Says air pull on it. Was this some sort of factory ac on the truck? Or just open vents somewhere?

And third is my breaker panel... Looks to me like some of the terminals are missing? Hoping this is why none of my lights work

Correct and to the right of the ignition is the lighter if you had that option.

Pull out for heat temp control. Turn to the right for fan speed.

Those missing terminals are normal if your truck wasn't originally equipped with the options that required them.

The fuse clips look kind of rusty though, and that could potentially be the reason why your lights are not working. Except for the headlights ... they are protected by a circuit breaker inside the headlight switch so their wiring doesn't pass through any of the fuses.

I'm thinking I'll replace the whole fuse panel. The wiring in this truck is a mess. There's wires cut, wires tied together, spliced into one another, etc. I'm thinking if I replace the fuse panel first atleast I'll know I've got a clean 12v coming in, then I can trouble shoot the individual circuits from there.

Can these fuse panels be cleaned up?

you are down one, the bottom is for a spot light, then tail, then radio, then heater, there is a little arrow to the left.

My B.U. LMP clip is missing, was that done from the factory or someone has pulled it out in the past? Im guessing if its like that from the factory, my truck didn't come with a radio? Anyone else's like this?

Does anyone sell just the tail light wiring harness? Something that plugs right in?

Every wire going to my tail lights is cut/broken in two.

Thanks for telling me about industries, everywhere I look its kit after kit, looks like they sell just the tail light harness from firewall back which is exactly what I need!

I think American Autowire does there harness's if I remember correct. Real nice quality. Just ordered a forward harness from them to run the HEI.

If you're going to do that much, you might as well just do the whole truck. It's not all that many wires, and full kits are sold (some even include the fuse panel/fusebox). It's pretty easy to do the whole thing that way, and then you'd know its done right and everything should work. It's a little more expensive, but it sure is a lot easier than trying to trace down every wire in the truck to find which one is causing each specific issue!

I thought wiring was magic at one time, so I read a book on it from bumping molecules to the entire automotive wiring scheme. It was fun to learn and fun to conduct the entire wiring process myself. I say read (first), collect your parts and tools and have fun. And you'll know everything about it (your truck) when your done.
