what is the plug on the left for?

oh yeah, i got my heater hose plug also

The one on the left is a oil pressure switch and the right is the oil pressure sending unit. The switch is for the choke. I would use it as it only let's the choke get power as long as the engine has oil pressure. This way your choke won't open with the key on and the engine not running.
