i would grab it.

even if its an iron block, its good for a couple grand in pull out condition.

THAT being said, throw that LS in the truck!!! the LS is an incredible platform for everything tire smoking, but the real advantage is EVERYTHING with this engine has been documented. having an issue with hard starts, google that ****. need the valley pan bolt torque requirement, its the second result on the search engine. they are super easy and parts are cheap and most of the issues have been worked out.
