Re: Whats It Worth

I insure all of my collector vehicles for stated value through American Family Insurance Co. I just send them an appraisal and 3 or 4 pictures. I haven't had to test it yet so I don't know how everything would shake out in the "real world" but my agent is a pretty cool guy. LockDoc

Re: Whats It Worth
It sucks you have to go through this with insurance company. Sounds like you got a fair deal though. No way in the world is that a $14,000+ truck. Maybe if you had an agreed value through someone like Haggerty or one of the other classic car insurers, you might have been able to get that, but they do ask for photos before insuring, so they may have questioned that high of a price

Re: Whats It Worth
And does it matter if you can fix it and have a salvage title? If you have had it that long i would guess you would be keeping it anyhow so the title wouldn't really matter. Take the money and run...

Re: Whats It Worth
Lots of good parts and a decent price from the insurance. I'd say use as much as you can and it'll still be "partly" Dads old truck.
