Woo Hooooooooo I WON!!!!!!!!!
I thought for sure someone was going to beat me out of it at the last minute. I hope it turns out to be a good truck. My wife actually suggested I bid on it, she's a great girl! Does anyone know who is the best shipper to use? I am in Ohio and will be having it shipped. Well wish me luck. Bob

Bob,
Sorry,I didn't recognize your name on there, because your a new member here. If I had known a board member was bidding on this, I sure wouldn't be advertizing it here. Congrats on the winning bid, it looks like a good one to start with. Congrats on marrying a good woman too...does she have a sister? lol |

Dtlilly,
Yes she does have a sister, but we already fixed her up with my best friend 4 years ago. I was really surprised that I won, almost makes me wonder why no one else bid on it. I realize it's not perfect but the parts alone are worth more than the bid price and shipping combined. I'll post some more pics when I get it home (probably a month or so).

bob, you'll never want to mess with Ohio trucks again after getting under a Texas truck.
What's the plans? |

Hi Longhorn,
My plans are pretty simple for now. Get the truck home, work some bugs out of it and drive it (not in the winter though). I have a 67 stepside from Georgia (it's rusted in STRANGE places) that is my current project but I wanted this to tool around in and fix as I drive. I already own one Texas truck and it has no rust anywhere, none, pulled up the powder blue shag carpet and it was shiny paint, even the bottom of the cab was lke new. It's in the process of going back together, frame has been blasted and painted a dark gray and the rest of the body has been stipped (it had been painted and the paint was peeling) and most of the body work is done (haven't picked out a color yet). Motor has been punched 30 over, 429 with a set of flat tops and DOVE-C heads so CR will be decent. I didn't bring it up on here because it's one of those Fords but I couldn't pass it up for the money ($500 with a blown motor). I don't have a problem with Fords, Dodge on the other hand....

What year ford is it? The 67 - 72 fords are the best looking ford ever built IMO. I looked at a few of them before I jumped into the chevy trucks.
Nothing wrong with a 429 either, that's a kick ass engine there. I still say they all made junk, they all made good things, and mostly all make junk these days now. |

Longhorn,
It's a 75 F100, I like the earlier body style as well but I couldn't pass this one up. My wife says I am not allowed to tear this one apart until I get a couple of the others back together. It's kind of funny though, I had a 72 C20 when I was younger and sold it to put money into the motor of a tubbed 80 stepside I was building(which I sold when we built our house). I wish I had that 72 back, it had everything on it, Air, tilt, slider, am/fm, tool box under bed, 2 tone red and white, black interior, and a 402 to boot. Boy was I dumb to sell it. Oh well this will be a fun truck for me.

I am not a huge fan of the 75 era fords myself, but I have seen more than a few that were done up right and looked real sharp.
Kinda funny the wife told you to buy it, but then tells you you can't play with it. LOL. Maybe it is supposed to be an insentive to get the others done maybe? Either way you get a high five for having such a cool wife. Mine would be the same if the cash flow was there to support the addiction. |

Longhorn,
Uncle Sam was taking from me all year and finally felt sorry for me so he gave me enough money to buy a new truck. That Caddy swap is pretty cool. My dad had an 80 F150 from Arizona that was given to him by his uncle. He hates Ford so he picked up a 500 caddy and stuffed it in there. Definately an improvement over the 300 six.

Man, that looks like you got one helluva deal! Especially since it's supposed to run (And it's a Big Block!!). If I wouldn't already have a project, I woulda been tempted to bid on that! :p
