So, which one is brighter??
I have two clusters and two different bulbs and holders. Can anyone tell me if these are year specific? Either will fit, I am just wondering why the two different styles? Also, between the two different bulbs shown, does anyone know which would be brighter? Assume the oblong bulb is the standard 194 bulb.
Thanks, |

Re: So, which one is brighter??
My 72 has the one on the right, yes it's a 194. I'm considering an led swap but also kinda like the dull old school look.

Thanks
Custom 10, I like the old school look as well, just trying to brighten things up a bit. |

Re: So, which one is brighter??
I have 5 or 6 clusters. All but one takes the wedge base bulbs. The other has sockets for bayonet base bulbs (left one in your picture). I don't recall what year truck the oddball came from.
It appears there are more bulb choices for the wedge base bulbs. For incandescent bulbs, 194s draw about .27 amps, 168s draw about .35 amps and 2825s (don't now if they fit but look like they should) draw about .4 amps. Those that draw more amps should be brighter. |

I have discovered that the 168 bulb is the brightest.
