Dual Battery Setup
Going to replace my battery today, with an Optima Red Top. After Christmas is paid off, I am going to get a Yellow top as well. I need some recommendations for setting the two up under the hood. How is yours setup? Thanks

twxsby,
What does the dual set up do for a gas truck? I know my 6.2L Diesel Burban has two but that is because it requires so much juice just to turn the thing over. I have been wanting to step up to a bigger altinator or something so I can run radio, CB, lights and whinch all at the same time without draining the altinator or battery. Thanks,

Twice I have been on a trail ride, high altitude, and the truck dies. When it's cold out, and there not so much air (10,000ft), she doesn't fire right up like at home (50ft) in So Cal. Result, Dead Battery. I don't ever want that problem again. Plus, I want a winch, extra lights, and I have a power inverter for gadgets in the cab. I think you can't have to much juice. I have heard good things about the "Painless" setup, but it's not exactly what I want. I am looking to hook up my red top to the starter, have it isolated so it can't discharge, and only runs the starter. The yellow top will run everything else. I could leave my lights and radio on, totally kill the battery, get in and the truck will fire right up, and recharge both batteries. Thats what I want, just need a map to get there.

You can buy the additional tray brackets from www.lmctruck.com. Once you add the trays add the battery. Hook them up in parallel and got juice!!!
