I've got an lt1 and it has a small sender hole in the head was told there's a vortec sender that works with the factory gauge anyone know?

I don't think so. I drilled my sender hole out and tapped it to 1/2 NPT so I could use the stock sender. There are a few threads on the subject over in the LSx Swaps Forum.....
