Re: Radiator help.....
That is the small I6 radiator for the 230/250 engine compounded by the fact that the small block has the long water pump. That fan shroud is something cobbled on there from another vehicle. The shroud between the radiator and the radiator support is factory for the I6 radiator. What you will need is a V8/HD I6 radiator that sits on top of the radiator crossmember instead of down between the frame rails. You will also need the lower saddles to bolt onto the crossmember as well as the correct top support. Then a reproduction V8 fan shroud along with the factory side flashings to bolt the shroud to. Then you will need to move the fan back towards the engine. The fan should be only 1/3 to 1/2 into the shroud. I'm not sure if that is possible with the long water pump. I don't use long water pumps in these trucks.

Re: Radiator help.....
Not exactly sure what you have there. Im not very familiar with that set up. I think that the original may have looked like a 55 gallon drum thats had about 10" cut off and installed for the shroud. I got a fiberglass one from repop places. I think it may have been for a '65? It's fiberglass and needed a little bit of trimming especially for the 21" fan. Mine doesn't have the thing that yours has in front of the radiator either though. Theres a lot of gaps that are going to be letting much needed cooled air out instead of through your radiator.

Re: Radiator help.....
The original and aftermarket V8 fan shrouds for the '63-'66's are made of a fiberglass/composite material.

Re: Radiator help.....
Ahh, thanks Captain. I do remember them being a little pricey and not wanting to modify mine!

Re: Radiator help.....
No, look closely; IMHO it looks like it might be the large/"V8" radiator wedged into the small radiator location.

Re: Radiator help.....
I stand corrected, you are right. Yesterday I did not see where they cut the frame to mount the bigger radiator down on the lower ledge.
It is hard to tell with the weird angle of the pics and limited visability, but you could be correct on the water pump as well. Typically when the alternator is on the passenger side, it is a long water pump. Either way there is a gross mismatch of parts going on there. I think we need some better pics that show more of the engine compartment so that we can make a good recommendation. Quote:
