86 K5 component id game

I believe I know what they all are, but let's see what we have. 3 pictures, 3 items circled per picture. As far as I know everything is where it would be on a stock K5 but a PO put in a 350 w/ Holley.

Re: 86 K5 component id

I'll try...

1) Transmission shift thingly

2) Electric Distributor plug

3) Smog Solenoid Plug

4) A/C Pump wiring

5) Another smog thing

6) Dual Tank wiring

7) Cruise Control

8) No idea

9) Cruise Control

This should help...

Re: 86 K5 component id

I think 1 and 3 are for the distributor and q-jet. 7, 8 and 9 for cruise control. 5 is the lock-up for the torque converter. Not sure about 2 and 4 or what 6 (2 wire plug) is.

Re: 86 K5 component id

I believe #2 is for the converter lockup and #4 is A/C wiring. I think #6 may be backup lights?

Re: 86 K5 component id

Is that a clutch master cylinder and reservoir bracket I see in the last picture? If so then I don't guess you'd have converter lockup connectors....

It is, I just converted her to a 4spd. I have not purged the wiring yet.

Re: 86 K5 component id

I'll play..

#1= EGR solenoid plug
#2= Spark advance switch
#3= EST (electronic spark timing) connector
#4= underhood lamp option?
#5= TCC (torque converter clutch) vacuum switch
#6= pressure differential switch connector for combo valve?
#7&9= vacuum hose that feeds vacuum reservoir that is mounted on drivers side inner fender or cruise control
#8= TCC test port

Odd that it has a TCC vac switch cuz I see a clutch master cylinder. Was the manual swapped in?

Yep, I swapped in an SM465/NP205 combo. I need to clean up the wiring now. Is #6 for dual tanks?

Re: 86 K5 component id

Looks like all but 4 and maybe 6 can go.

K5's were a single tank only so I don't think that's what it's for....

Checked mine, #4 is A/C comp as silverbear said and #7 is cruise
