Where to get fender bolts

I'm putting new fenders and a battery box on and broke a few bots and the old ones look bad so I need new bolts. Where is everyone getting these? Also it looks like the fender bolts and battery box bolts are the same. Am I right?

Re: Where to get fender bolts

I've been getting things out of http://truckandcarshop.com

They have everything.. only problem I have is its "Really" hard to get in touch with anyone on the phone to place a order... your better to write a order and fax it to them...

Kinda odd not to have a fully functioning web site.. heck I'd build them one for free..

Re: Where to get fender bolts

The front end bolts are the same for the battery box and the inner/outer fenders & radiator support to grill support.

Re: Where to get fender bolts

I got mine on eBay. Just search for GM body bolts. I think the ones I got for the fenders were 5/16-18 x 3/4".

Re: Where to get fender bolts

are there any wrecking yards with 60-66's near you?
I always grab extra rust free bolts when I go.

the two rear upper fender and one lower which take the 9/16 socket are the same bolt as the door hinge bolt. I always grab a few extra door hinge bolts when I think of it. this same bolt is inside the fender and holds it to the radiator support as well.

Not sure they are anywhere but in the west, but Fastnal has the same products.

I bought a couple boxes of the standard (taper point) body bolts that were 'parkerized' (same process the military used on the WWII weapons,, no rust,, EVER!) You can get the same in stainless. But stainless screwed into mild steel will attract rust from the surrounding mild steel. Only way you can get stainless to rust.

If you use the stainless, be it screwed into a stainless bolt or mild steel. Be SURE and give it a generous smear of anit-seize.

Re: Where to get fender bolts

I found some at the local hardware store but they were $1.20 a piece. I got enough to get the tray back in but I will get some from a vender when I replace the rest. Thanks for the help.
