My truck. Original 350, I did repainted the air cleaner though. Other than that it's all original.

Re: Show us your SURVIVOR ENGINE pictures
Nice engine, but as far as original-what about the Edelbrock carb, inline fuel filter....?

Re: Show us your SURVIVOR ENGINE pictures
Is that 20k mile since restoring or 20k mile original!?!? Wow, great looking engine and engine compartment. I'm assuming you meant 20k mile original - and I really love it when folks just clean them up (and very nicely in this case) and keep em goin. Looks great.

Re: Show us your SURVIVOR ENGINE pictures
That's not mine...I snaked it from the net. I collect reference pics and that was one...but yes it was billed as a low mileage original, and it definitely looked the part.

Re: Show us your SURVIVOR ENGINE pictures
79k miles when I got it about 7 months ago. Added pretty much all the bolt on upgrades that deal with fuel/air mixture and spark. stronger and more efficient than when I got it. Plus when I got it they didn't bother to change the plug gap when they added HEI so they scratched their heads for a very long time tryign to figure out why it would die when put in gear. I'm givin' her a new lease on life. has about 81.5k on her now. Just needs heads and a cam now . I have been focusing on the interior lately. Also disregard the leakiness of the radiator hose in the picture. Fixed that as well as added a new throttle return spring and bracket.

Re: Show us your SURVIVOR ENGINE pictures
Speaking of valve cover decals... what was the valve cover decal for a 1968 327? Anyone got a pic of an unmolested 68 327 engine bay?

Re: Show us your SURVIVOR ENGINE pictures
Dang, that's gotta be about the most boring valve cover decal I've ever seen. Whoever designed that one deserves a demotion! Thanks for the pics.

Re: Show us your SURVIVOR ENGINE pictures
Here's how my 68 SWB GMC started out, Original 307 V8 4-speed (hood prop stick was OEM). Then my buddy Steve's improvements; 4 bolt 350 V8 & Turbo 400. And how it is Today after I bought the truck from Steve and had the 350 yanked, and a 2005 Vortec 5.3 & 4L65E installed.

Did 67 292s have the emission tube from valve cover to above carb or just pcv to manifold? Edit: looks like a 250 after looking more closely.
