Re: Angle plug headers that fit a 4wd?sbc
I am using mid-length TriY type. I haven't completed but I test fit on AFR 195 heads with angle plugs. I tried Both Dougs and Doug Thorleys because they were less expensive but both had issues somewhere so I sent them back to Summit.
I got a set of Stan's out of Washington. I bought them in bare metal and ceramic coat locally. They are a little spendy but very well made. You could see the difference over the others I tried and fit well for me. Also had a nice big square port that didn't pinch the exhaust outlet on the AFR heads like the others did. I think 172YB was the part number. I talked to them on the phone. The shop foreman/supervisor (can't remember his name) is familiar with this era of truck. My truck is a 72 4x4 Blazer

Did you get your Headers in. Here is few pics of mine temp mounted now on the roller. I did have to clearance the top rail of the frame but that is because my Engine is moved 1 7/8" forward and it narrows a bit. I'm going to send them out now for Ceramic coat.

I bought Doug's 372Y and they hit the rear spring shackle on the drivers side. $640 headers that don't fit.

Just happened to notice this tag when packing these back up. Might explain a few things considering they are outsourcing.

Yes, read the reply I just sent to your PM. You are not the first to have Front shackle issues either. I have seen a Blazer in the Restoration forum with the same issue.
