mounting a '55 short step side box on a '67 short frame
Thought this would be a bolt on but of course it's not. Anyone done this before?

A buddy of mine has just what you want to do. He bought it that way but next time I'm over there I'll look into it for you.
Edit: Also, welcome to the board from Des Moines!

Is the frame a different width? If it is you could re drill the braces and rework the mounts. The bed should fit fine cosmetically.

Re: mounting a '55 short step side box on a '67 short frame
My first thought was the rear mounting holes in the cross sill of the bed were a little to far rear of the matching holes in the frame. Seemed like I needed to add on to the frame. My cab is not on the frame though so I need to take some measurements from that latter today to compare. The picture was helpful though. At least I know it's been done and looks OK. Thank you.
