Steering box 1979
I currently have strong arm steering on my 79 truck and want to switch to power steering. I recently bought from the j-yard a power steering box out of a 1973 truck. I noticed Autozone and even LMC list different part numbers for a 73 and 79 2wd truck when it comes to steering boxes. Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 boxes. Before I tear into this and find I have the wrong box or something just wont fit.

Re: Steering box 1979
Just guessing, different line connections? GM changed from flares to o-rings during the 1970's

Re: Steering box 1979
So are you saying I might have to change rag/couple joint or steering shaft ??
I got all the hoses from the 73 so I should be good to go there and I already drilled out the water pump hole to mount the 73 pump. I guess I should just tear into this thing and see what I see Thanks guys
