VA ac and glove box door conflict.
Just a heads up. I got a used VA sure fit under dash unit. I mounted it over the inside cab insulation which left it about 1/4" off the firewall and parts of the air box tight against the dash lip under the glove box. When I went to trial fit the glove box lid I could not get the in far enough to align with the hinge screws. I ended up using a couple of wood wedges to temporarily move the box off the dash and slotted the hinge holes to get it to work.
Nothing in the instructions warns about the clearance issue, maybe the newer units have been redesigned so the clearance is not so tight.

Re: VA ac and glove box door conflict.
I ran into the same thing with mine. I blamed it on the PO who had beat the center of the firewall in to create clearance for an HEI distributor, but maybe if others are having this problem it might just be the difference in TF cabs.

Yeah? Wait until you try and get their sure-fit AD kit installed in a '54. After talking to the tech guy, we decided its "sure fit" for the 47-53 trucks and "make it fit" for the '54-'55.1 trucks.
I remember my boy had trouble with the glove box on the '59 we did. I don't recall how he resolved it, though.

Ogre, that's not a glove box, that's a survival storage container.

Re: VA ac and glove box door conflict.
I have one under my drivers seat too. Sound like I have opened a topic that affects many but is never talked about in public. Kind of like the Dugger family....

Something not quite right about a couple who would want 19 kids. My wife and I have 5 boys, and that was quite enough, thank you. As far as the glove box, I talked to my boy and he said he had a couple of problems. First, the door wasn't the one that came with the truck, so he had to trim the bottom of the door to get it to fit the hole. Then he had to shorten the check link so it wouldn't hit the hoses when you close the door. He also changed the routing of the outlet hoses from where V/A said to route them. This was for more clearance for the check link and also the aftermarket wiper linkage.

Old Crow I do not judge the general population of any group based on outliers in the bell curve of life.
Anyway, the shortening of the stop brace is addressed in the VA literature, that is what I was checking when the other issue came up. I also checked wiper linkage before completing the install.

Re: VA ac and glove box door conflict.
For some reason, he had to trim the lower edge of the glove box door. Said he cut about 1/4" off, welded the inside and outside back together, ground it down and finished it. The truck's gone home to Texas, so I can't check it to see what the problem was.
Musta looked OK, took a first place trophy in our local show last year along with one for best interior
