Not sure about the bolt pattern but the rear end in it now came out of a 78 Chevy truck and it is 5 lug

78 truck bolt pattern is 5 on 5" pattern, car pattern (as previously mentioned) is 5 on 4.75". Wheels will not work. Probably easier to dig up another $150 rearend for the 73-87 truck.

The only reason I was looking at the Camaro rear end is it had pos track and 373 gears. Could I use the third member in the Camaro or put my axles in the Camaro rear end?

Re: Rear end bad

You can make any rear end fit in these trucks.

If the "3rd member" is out of a 10-bolt... then no.

Re: Rear end bad

If you have a Camaro 12 bolt posi it's worth more to the Camaro guy. You could sell it and buy a new posi/gear/bearings for your truck

Re: Rear end bad

Check on craigslist for chevy truck parts and look for a guy with more than one ad because that is usually the guy with the small chevy truck parts yard.
You shouldn't have any trouble finding a 71-72 5-lug rear axle, and even less trouble finding a 67-70 rear axle.

Re: Rear end bad

It sounds like you're looking for a bolt in, in that respect; no, nothing except for a rear end from a 67-72 will fit if it's coil sprung. Even then, coil and leaf rear ends are different and won't just bolt in the opposite vehicle without slight mods.

The rear ends are also different widths between years. That isn't much of a concern unless you're running large tires or an odd backspacing.
