DD in a 7500... oil capacity?
got me a 1975 H70 with a 6V53. Seems that straight weight oil is going to be a special trip to purchase at the bulk plant. now that is has been fired up and made a short trip, and got warmed up and circulated good I figured I would start with an oil and filters change. Anyone know right off how much oil this is going to take ? interesting that the dipstick show a 'F" and a "7" ( down a ways assuming this is and ad mark ?)

Re: DD in a 7500... oil capacity?
I believe that should be an "F" and an "L".
(Full and Low) I can't remember how many quarts my 6V-53 took, but my little 2-53 takes 9 quarts.

Re: DD in a 7500... oil capacity?
Thank you Bill, the F and L makes makes more sense .... I had a reply on an other Forum where an old Motor manual said 14 quarts.... so the information you shared makes it sound in the correct "Ball park"

Re: DD in a 7500... oil capacity?
My GMC service manual lists 16 quarts with filter for the 6v-53.
