60-63 Idiot light to factory full Gauge conversion, what is all needed?
awhile back i traded for a really nice full gauge setup. and would like to put it in my truck. Whats is all required? im assuming there must be a sending unit for the temp gauge or something, and whatever wiring differences?
i thought i saw a thread awhile back that described all of this and for some reason after searching a few days and through the FAQ i cant find it. Any input is appreciated! Thanks in advance. Aaron

My truck has original warning lights gauges as well... Iv been planning to do the same. After doing my own research, all you really need to do is order the guage cluster under dash harness for "gauges" I believe which is at about somewhere around $50-$65. You can keep the same sending units that are the engine I believe.

Re: 60-63 Idiot light to factory full Gauge conversion, what is all needed?
There are quite a few differences. The main harness (runs $200-300) and gauge harness ($50-75) are different. The sending units are different for the oil and temp also. Oil is plumbed from the block with no sending unit on the gauges. Temp sender is different and only 1 wire install as opposed to two wires for the warning lights. Fuel is the same wiring and the ammeter is wired different.
I'd recommend replacement harness's unless you are proficient and wiring and electrical. The clusters drop in the same as the warning light system.

Re: 60-63 Idiot light to factory full Gauge conversion, what is all needed?
I am not changing the entire truck harness just because of the Gauges. I am not scared of Wiring I have wired many vehicles. Just curious what the differences are. Iknow ill need to get a sender for the Temp Gauge. oil pressure is a direct hookup. How is the Ammeter wired in these trucks? that's really the only challenge I guess. where does the power come from for the Temp Gauge on the Deluxe set?
I probably should have just been more specific.
