Looking to remove my cab and was hoping some one had a link to how to build a wood brace to hook to my cherry picker?

to remove my cab, 3100 53, I put a 4x4 through the door openings, doors removed, put a rope around one end of 4x4, put it over the top of roof and tie to the other end to the 4x4. of course raised up in the opening. put cherry picker, centered, and raise up then move picker and cab out of the way or move frame out from under cab. easier with 2 people.

The cab didn't slide off the picker? That's what I'm worried about

KIM 57 that is neat, have you had any problems with it twisting or anything? The guy who removed my cab (66 C10) and my 40 Studebaker 4 door body used a strap and of course bent the crap out of the drip railings. Your "tool" would prevent this. Looks good. Taclem

How is the bracket in the middle done?

It doesn't twist at all. It's wide enough that it fits over the boom on the hoist.
I can also strap it at the rear for heavier bodies.

The middle bracket is a "T" strap that is used in construction.I got them at Home Depot.

most of my friends and neighbors drink beer, i keep a lot of beer around to entice them for jobs like this

Took this idea from a bud's build thread on here. Ball hitch fits right in the end of a cherry picker, turn it upside down so the ball mounts on the bottom of the lifting apparatus. You can tilt, swivel and move the cab fairly easily now.

Supplies:

2 2"x4"x8' boards = $8
Nails, bag of 3" = $4
Tow hitch from Harbor Freight = $9

Total = $21 and the satisfaction of no longer having to wait for friends to come over to help move the cab.

I used a piece of 2" x 2" tubing to build a fixture. Worked fine.

heres how i did mine. not the greatest way but it worked fine multiple times for me by myself and with a empty cab.
it was a lil' bit of a balancing act but(not in the pic)another strap out too the firewall really helped keep it balanced great.
also i have low ceilings so i needed too keep eveything low and with the stones outside things dont like too roll on'm.
