Not Level

My 66 has that normal right hand lean that most of these old trucks have but if it were caused by the body mounts, I wouldn't think that I would have the issue I have. I cut one coil off my CPP 3" springs to bring the front end down. On the drivers side, I was about 1/4" from sitting on the bump stop perches. I had already removed the rubber stops. On the pass side, I still had about an inch and a half of clearance. Any idea why I'm so much lower on the drivers side?

Re: Not Level

Does the rear height check out?
Also, are you sure that both front springs are sitting in there pockets? I know when I had drop springs in front and I jack it up, the front springs get loose and may not sit back in there pockets properly after letting the jack down, I had to manually guide them in.

Re: Not Level

Yup sounds like that side is not in the pocket. If you are only a 1/4" off the bump stop brackets they will have to go. Also check to see if your shocks are close to bottomed out. When you get it aligned have them check to see how much bump steer it has. I am assuming at that height with the cut springs it does not have dropped spindles. That put the tie rods at a pretty good angle. As you go over bumps you may find the truck has developed a mind of its own on where it wants to go.

Re: Not Level

The rear height has the same issue. Truck has always been higher on the pass side. I just removed bump stop perches and left enough for a steer stop. Rides great now. I have stock KYB shocks on the front and will most likely grab some lowered shocks. They're pretty compressed. I was by myself on the test ride so im sure another body in the cab will cause them to bottom.

Re: Not Level

completely normal it is the chevy lean on old trucks due to twisted frame after 40+ years of heavy use// 99.5 % of these trucks have it
