Is it a '71 C30?
I recently purchased a 71' C30. Rough condition but I do have plans. Being my first 67-72 I have been doing a bunch of research and am questions parts of the truck. The grille, cab lights, mirror base seem to be that of an earlier model? I will attach pictures for reference. The truck's SPID is missing. The Canadian vin has me going between a '71 or '69 depending how you look at it.

Not sure on year but looks like a work horse. Love the bugshield...awesome! Good luck with the build.

Hockey puck cab lights were 69 only. Mirrors look like 71-72 sport mirror bases with camper mirror heads

I'll play
Rear view mirror says 72. Are there screws in the doors near the wing vent? Another 72 only. |

Re: Is it a '71 C30?
I bought a c-30 with longest wb gm made a while back, plans are 14 bolt (daully) wide rear end, 1982 front x-member with all suspension (dually also) air ride rear suspension, 427 td or dodge 6bt ( I have both and cant make up my mind ) th400 or nv4500 ( I have both of these too ) custom 10 ft aluminum flat bed . sure beats 60-70 k for a new truck.

Re: Is it a '71 C30?
Clearance lamps, grille, drum brakes, and VIN-plate say '69. The lower plate has been removed. What type of gas pedal does it have, off the floor w/rod linkage or hung off the firewall w/cable? Looks to me like doors were replaced or mirrors changed. But who would put car mirrors on a C/30 work truck? My bet is doors changed

If you really want the lo down on the truck, contact the GM Heritage centre and for 50/75.00 they will send you the trucks history with options and first owner info.

Re: Is it a '71 C30?
Additional info. The owners manual I found in the truck was for '71, the puck style cab lights have the number '69 on them, insurance and registration said '71 but they had the S digit down as a 5 so I am not sure how they found it in the system, front drum brakes with 1/2" studs, the gas pedal was broke off but I believe it was hinged at the floor, throttle linkage is rod not cable.
