Question Paint code?

I think this is one of the best looking trucks I have seen. Sure the red and white looks good, but that is a bit played out...so is the blue and white,a nd the ocher is cool, but needs the upper and lower trim with white in the middle to pull it off IMO.

I have been trying to figure what color would look good with black vinyl in the cab, and white GMC grill and bumpers and wheels. Of course one day I hope to chainge all that ****e to chrome, but that is a pipe dream in reality.
I think this color combo is the best for the above criteria. I think I have a lead on the lower trim for the longhorn, and if so, I plan on doing the two tone in this manner.

So anyone know the code for this shade? I think this truck belonged to Tracy Focht, I haven't seen him on here in ages, but his profile says he was on yesterday....maybe he dumped his truck and joined the 73-87 side of the house.

Longhorn Man
Maroon Metallic 517 (1969)
I am not positive but this is the only factory color that comes close.
It appears to be a one year only color for Chevy and Gmc Trucks
Maybe someone out there has this color code and could post some pics.

Cool, I didn't really even notice that looks some what like the original color on the GMC. (not that I would be able to get the paint code off of that) I guess the tranny hump pictured is the same shade then huh?
Like I had said though, that 69 up there is one of the best looking uncommon paint schemes I have seen.

Talking

Longhorn,

Check this site out. The color is Maroon Poly, (poly is another name for metallic). That is a sharp truck!

I've still got a set of Longhorn upper bed trim if you decide to two tone that truck.
