Brakes 82 K20

Bleeding the brakes after new rotors. Brakes will stop the truck but the peddle continues to go down. All new parts except the master/booster and the flex brake lines. These will be replaced next. With the engine off I have good peddle and doesn't go down but goes down when engine is running. And am I supposed to bleed the brakes w/the engine on or off. Brake fluid level remains constant, no apparent leaks. I'm thinking diaphragm??? Thank You

Re: Brakes 82 K20

Is your Parking Brake/Brake Warning light on all the time now? I'm wondering if front brake circuit was drained enough and the pedal depressed if the Combination Proportioning valve tripped.

I'm getting ready to deal with this on my truck. My light is on all the time due to blowing out my rear line

Its either the master [most likely] or booster.

Re: Brakes 82 K20

the way im reading this everything is fine with the truck off.. I have always been told to bleed with the truck off so if you haven't done that do that.. make sure you bleed the proper sequence farthest to closest. If the issue continues then I would suggest you check the vacuum and check valve on the booster if that is good then im thinking the booster is the culprit
